What brought you to Baltimore Built? A bunch of really cool people I knew were coming here 😉 Community is everything.
How long have you been a member at Baltimore Built? I joined Summer 2024, so a little over a year and a half.
Were you athletic or involved in sports when growing up? If so, what sports and or activities did you participate in? Yes! I tried just about every sport you can imagine growing up. In high school I played both JV and Varsity Field Hockey, and I was also on my high school wrestling team.
Were you working out regularly prior to joining Baltimore Built? If so, what were you doing? I was! I belonged to a boxing gym for about 3 years.I kind of fell into Crossfit in 2021 and was doing both until Summer of 2022. Over the last few years, I’ve really shifted my focus toward strength training and absolutely love picking heavy things up and putting them down.
Why do you workout? Getting strong is really fun. I love watching my personal growth, physically and mentally. I also love getting to witness that growth in the people I’m lucky enough to work out alongside.
What is your favorite lift or movement and why? Oof, tough one. I’d probably say the barbell snatch because it’s the most challenging movement for me, and I’ve been stuck at the same PR for years. That will change this year 🙂
What is your favorite workout or type of workout and why? Loveeeee an AMRAP because I can just stay steady moving. I enjoy cycling the barbell…just please NO thrusters.
What have you accomplished as an athlete (big or small) during your time at Baltimore Built? Honestly, so much. I’ve seen the biggest improvements in my form, strength, and endurance since joining BB. I’ve hit more PRs in the last year and a half than I did in my entire fitness journey before this.
What fitness goals do you have for the next year? Keep showing up every day and hopefully hit a few more PRs. Nothing too crazy, I’m all about consistency.
How has your fitness influenced and/or impacted your life outside of the gym? It’s given me confidence, structure, and an outlet to reset mentally. The strength I build in the gym carries into every part of my life.
What hobbies and activities do you enjoy outside of the gym? Spending time with friends, traveling, finding good coffee, and hanging out with my fur son/dog Ryely. I also love live music, being outdoors, and embracing a good balance between movement and rest.
