What brought you to Baltimore Built? Barbell Club

How long have you been a member at Baltimore Built? Unsure. Started PT with Sarah at the old location. Then joined BB Club. Started taking strength & conditioning classes in Oct. 

Were you athletic or involved in sports when growing up? If so, what sports and or activities did you participate in? Wasn’t active/involved in sports growing up.

Were you working out regularly prior to joining Baltimore Built? If so, what were you doing? Yes, I was doing CrossFit at another gym. Also did powerlifting for about 2 years.

Why do you workout? As I age, maintaining strength & mobility is important. I want to maintain my physical independence for as long as possible.

What is your favorite lift or movement and why? Split between squats (love heavy squats) & snatches (love the feeling of perfect snatch).

What is your favorite workout or type of workout and why? Depends on the day. Sometimes I just want to lift heavy. Other days I want to sweat & breathe hard from a really good metcon.

What have you accomplished as an athlete (big or small) during your time at Baltimore Built? Improved my olympic lifts. 

What fitness goals do you have for the next year? Continue to improve my strength in the olympic lifts. 

How has your fitness influenced and/or impacted your life outside of the gym? It’s made everyday activities easier. Before I made my health a priority, I couldn’t walk up a single flight of steps without being out of breath & needing to rest. Carrying groceries, lifting heavy packages, even getting off the floor, etc were all hard & took lots of effort. I’m also more active outside of the gym & I actually enjoy it.

What hobbies and activities do you enjoy outside of the gym? Reading, hiking, sunshine, & spending time with family/friends.
