Name: Meighan Sweeney
Age: 41 (I know I can’t believe it either).
Occupation: Relator (it is phony profession)
What brought you to Baltimore Built? I missed having programming laid out for me and the motivation of group training.
How long have you been a member at Baltimore Built? 6ish months?
Were you athletic or involved in sports when growing up? If so, what sports and or activities did you participate in? No! Fun fact: I am a former fat kid. I started running my senior year of college and then got very into the gym. I am terrible at team sports, please don’t ask me to play on your social team, you will regret it.
Were you working out regularly prior to joining Baltimore Built? If so, what were you doing? Yes, globo gym workouts, running, cycling.
Why do you workout? Mostly because I want to eat and drink what I want but I suppose it makes me feel good also.
What is your favorite lift or movement and why? Deadlifts, something very satisfying about just picking up something really heavy and putting it down.
What is your favorite workout or type of workout and why? Long chippers with lots of cardio and machines.
What have you accomplished as an athlete (big or small) during your time at Baltimore Built? I had fallen off a lot of my strength training and developed some less than stellar habits. I have definitely improved my form and strength in a pretty short amount of time.
What fitness goals do you have for the next year? Been kicking around another marathon and would like to BQ again.
How has your fitness influenced and/or impacted your life outside of the gym? I have made a lot of really good friends who would be strangers had I not joined the fitness community. I also meet a lot of clients which is a lovely bonus! What hobbies and activities do you enjoy outside of the gym? Honestly it’s a lot of eating, drinking, and hanging out with my fur family. I love traveling. Once warmer days hit you can find me at the pool or, better yet, on a beach with a book and/or a beverage in my hand.
