September 2022 Athlete Of The Month

Name: Christle Henzel
Age: 47
Occupation: Therapist/School Psychologist
How long have you been a member at BBS&C? 1 year after opening (Don’t know how many years that is).
Were you athletic or involved in sports when growing up? No
Were you working out regularly prior to joining BBS&C? If so, what were you doing? Yes I did a combination of strength training and cardio with personal trainers.
Why do you workout? I workout to build confidence. Baltimore Built has taught me that I can accomplish things I didn’t think were possible. I also workout to stay healthy, and have energy.
What is your favorite lift or movement and why? Power Clean and Split Jerk. I remember walking into the gym when I first started and seeing an athlete completing that move, and I thought… Wow, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to do that move. It looked so intimidating. Now, when I complete the move, I think about that moment, and smile. It makes me feel powerful.
What is your favorite workout or type of workout and why? My favorite type of workout is an EMOM workout. It goes by quick, it’s motivating, challenging and fun.
What have you accomplished as an athlete (big or small) during your time at BBS&C? I’ve become stronger and more confident. I push myself in and outside the gym in ways I hadn’t prior to coming to Baltimore Built.
What fitness goals do you have for the next year? I want to continue to get stronger and lose 10 pounds.
How has your fitness influenced and/or impacted your life outside of the gym? I am more confident, try things I wouldn’t ordinarily and push myself when I want to give up. Thank you Baltimore Built!
