Name: Andrea Gonzalez
Length Of Time CrossFitting: 1 year and 4 months
Favorite Lift and Why: Front Squat! It’s the one lift where I feel most in control and strong because I can support the barbell by keeping my elbows high and I can squat deeper.
Favorite WOD and Why: AMRAPs. I love an AMRAP because I know I have a defined amount of time to get the work in.
Goals for the Next Year: Kipping pull ups, double unders, 200lb front squat
How has CrossFit Impacted your Life? Crossfit has completely changed my life. I was never an athletic person, always picked last in gym class and started Crossfit with that mentality. From the first class I knew things could be different, there were people my size capable of lifting so much weight, flying through pull ups, doing push ups and box jumps like nobody’s business and it made me think that with some work I could do all of that too. I really think its the coaches and community that made the biggest impact with me. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. They pushed me whether its to get that last pull up, put 10 more lbs on the barbell or to run faster and with all of that i’ve been able to gain so much confidence and get so much stronger mentally and physically. Crossfit makes me feel like a badass, simple as that.
